You Don’t Have To

Dear runner friends:

On this Global Running Day, I’d like to give you all a little reminder.

You don’t have to…

…run “fast”…
…run long distances…
…run races…
…use a GPS watch/app…
…keep track of your mileage/pace/PRs…
…post your runs on social media…
…own lots of fancy gear…
…eat special food…
…know all the lingo (fartlek? tempo? VO2 max???)…
…be a brand ambassador or influencer…
…look like a “runner”…
…read the books, follow the blogs, watch the movies…
…do anything except RUN…

…to be a runner.

Whether you ran today or not, if you run, you are a runner. Never forget it.

Love this! So true. I didn’t run it last year and felt crappy for it. However, I love running, so I enjoyed the run I got in the next day….life happens. This year I managed to get my first early morning run in during global running day. Funny thing is, I thought HRD was Friday, as in tomorrow.

Yeah, I didn’t run last year cause I was pregnant. Sometimes it’s a rest day. Sometimes you don’t feel like it. It’s all good. And yay for first early morning run!

Having been a runner who knows the lingo, did the races, has the gear, set the goals, run the PRs and won the races… who has put all that aside for a more relaxed running lifestyle, I want to say thank you. I needed this. :0)

Yes! Too right, getting out there, whenever you want, however you want. A great message. Think I need your post printed on a wall as a constant reminder 👍
